Golden Rainbow

Saturday, April 12, 2014
Size:
20 inches

I understand this isn’t exactly a “rough” fish, but I figured it was a notable catch since it is my PB Rainbow and first ever Golden Rainbow Trout, or, Palomino. It was 20 inches exactly and it took a small white grub I had found in the bank I was sitting on. It was caught in PA on a small tributary to the Susquehanna River.

That is one gorgeus fish

It's even cooler that you caught it on a scrounged bait. There's nothing better than finding your bait on the stream.

That's a cool fish! Almost hurts my eyes! It's gotta be a strange sight, watching that critter swim around...

Fishn sure is neat

PA stocks some Golden Bows, esp. in populated, high-traffic areas where I fish a great deal & see 'em all the time (they're kinda' hard to miss)...  and I've NEVER caught one!!!  I mean, I'm not a bad angler -- I've caught a few of the regular 20-24" "trophy-size" stockies (actually, every one I ever hooked) & plenty Bows & Browns in the high teens, but nary a Golden -- in any size sad angryfrown

P.E.T.A. sucks!!!  Plants are living things, too -- they're just easier to catch!
