Nova Scotia

Anyone on here familiar with fishing in Nova Scotia at all. My wife and I are planning a trip to visit family this year or next and would like to fish at least once. I have been reading over the regulations and have found a few articles online. Just curious if anyone on here has had experiences there.

I tried very hard this past winter to get info about fishing NS. The locals on the forum don't want to even discuss it with anyone who is from "away". I honestly think it's an east coast thing as I encountered similar bs in New Brunswick last year. One of the forums wouldn't activate my account despite numerous messages to the moderator. I wanted to book a day of striper fishing on the Bay of Fundy and the friggen guide wouldn't respond to my emails. I guess my in-land money isn't good out there. Needless to say we did not end up going to NS.

One thing I do know is that NS has some spectacular chain pickerel fishing and you need only go on youtube and type in chain pickerel nova scotia to see for yourself. I PMed you the names of some lakes I was able to gather that hold big chains.

I fished there when I was a teenager. Some of the clear streams we crossed on the highway through the province had pan sized brook trout in them, the dark streams had smallmouth bass. It was quite easy to catch large sculpin from the wharf in downtown Halifax by throwing a fish baited hook to the bottom. Tomcod too.
