I was micro fishing and catching many three spine sticklebacks around midnight and then spotted a group of strange micros darting around. I instantly became excited because I thought they were silversides as I never caught one before, and saw some here in the past. These ones actually were interested in my bait but barely. They pecked at it so quick I couldn’t get a hook set until finally around 1 AM I landed one! Looking at the fish, I thought to myself… This isn’t a silverside! It has an adipose fin! I did much research and the only thing it could be is a Lake Whitefish, which is so cool because I caught it in a deeper docking area where the local whitefish fishing boats dock. Two years in a row with a lake whitefish. This time in Lake Michigan!
