Week 9: Handline Mastery for drawer.bli Created: Mon, 08/03/2020 - 03:33 Default: No

Handline fishing was pretty hard! On Saturday, I stood atop a bridge over a small creek and lowered a tiny jig down with the line from a spool of 6x fly tippet, and got creek chub, green sunfish, redbreast sunfish, and bluegill.  Sunday evening, I beefed up my gear a bit and dug out an old handline spool I had laying around, and tied on a lure with some 8 lb mono to try to catch a bass. Unfortunately, "casting" and retrieving proved to be too difficult, and I instead opted for a little jig lowered along a wooden boardwalk for white perch and crappie, which was successful.
