Hello, just curious if anyone has had a "Rough Fish" mounted by a Taxidermist? Either an original fish mount or replica. Thanx For Your Time: Leloinjunior

This is a golden redhorse replica made from a custom mold of the fish. Sorry, this was from St. Patrick's day a few years back. Here's a little story about the replica process on it - CLICK HERE
JKnuth, a member of this website, did this fish for me. He is an extremely talented taxidermist and has done counless mounts of our beloved Roughfish. Check out his website at KNUTHART.COM
Hillarious picture, I'm guessing the O'l Boy fell for some Guinness Soaked Nightcrawlers? Very cool process, wasn't aware of custom molding the fish to create a replica. Thanx Again for mentioning the Taxidermist.

Heres my American Eel replica I had made when this super sweet eel I caught died. I tried to release it and it just went belly up. So instead of eating it I decided to ship it off to the great JKnuth to let him perform his magic. Sure glad I did. Dudes eye for details is incredible...
More pics...
Sorry for the hacky post. I'm having issues putting multiple pics up in a single post.
Hey Thanx Dr. Flathead, thats the second Rough Fish Replica I've seen from JKnuth. Thanx for the close-ups, the detail is absolutely breathtaking. I'm western Canada, so am far away from Eel fishing. I watched a very cool documentary abut Eels on NetFlix a while back. The only thing I'm not happy about is I highly doubt I could send a Canadian Rough Fish down to JKnuth so he could work his magic. I've already emailed the Canadian Assoc. of Taxidermy with a link to JKnuth's website asking if there are any Canadian Taxidermists that make custom replica's like JKnuth. And as I mentioned to Andy, I've read that actual fish mounts often deteriorate after 10+ years, but the replica will be with you forever.
Doc, that mount is one of the coolest things I've seeing in a while.
Amazing work by Josh. The details are superb.

Josh can work magic. He has blanks of so many fish you would never think he had.
It is all perspective!

I've actually watched Josh do it, so I can describe the process pretty accurately.
-In the beginning, there is nothing.
-He puts on some tunes
-Magic happens.
-He lets some stuff set and dry.
-Much more magic happens. We're talking extreme magic here.
-Mine eyes see the glory of the apparition of a replica that looks fit to flare its fins and swim away.
Like Aaron said, he has tons of blanks and molds of MANY species from all over in his shop. I've shivered over the one of Doc's Eel many times...
Fishn sure is neat
