Comments:
This split off the orangethroat darter species complex is recognized as distinct in the Peterson field guide (2nd edition) and NANFA (http://www.nanfa.org/checklist.shtml). It has not yet been formally described, but has distinctive morphological characteristics and is found with the White River drainage of the Ozarks region. I caught this specimen in Crooked Creek near Yellville, AR.
