Anybody fished the Outer Banks of North Carolina recently? Curious to know what's biting and what techniques are working. Leaving for Hatteras this weekend.

I was down there about a month ago. A piece of frozen shrimp on a size four or six hook will catch fish in both the surf and the bay. In the surf, you'll catch kingfish, skates, and the odd redfish, flounder, seatrout, or bluefish. In the bay, you'll find white catfish, white perch, eels, small black drum, croakers, and all sorts of other small stuff. The bays also have some good seatrout and redfish fishing, but you really have to be in the right place at the right time.

There are also freshwater drainage canals all over the place that are full of longnose gar. These can be pretty hard to access, but if you look around on Google Maps, you should be able to find something.

Got back night before last.

Got back night before last.  Got 7 pinfish, a pigfish, a silver perch, and a tiny blacktip shark.  Had gotten pinfish in 2019 in a different part of North Carolina.  Silver perch was a photo lifer (started taking pictures in 2011, but last previous catch was 1994).  Pigfish & blacktip shark are lifers.  Will try again in 2022.
