<p>I caught these fish both in the Ocanaluftee river in Great smoky mountains national park. I was wondering what they were.&nbsp;</p> <p><img alt="" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-67_wNgbZw_4/VGFQtTscM-I/AAAAAAAAAu4/Danix8Ua0X8/w695-h521-no/image.jpeg" style="width: 600px; height: 450px;" /></p> <p><img alt="" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jbUAosCgVvI/VGFQtYZr05I/AAAAAAAAAv0/CuCDD3yvwuo/w695-h521-no/image.jpeg" style="width: 600px; height: 450px;" /></p> <p><img alt="" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-L0Y4E5blPws/VGFQtXk20PI/AAAAAAAAAu4/Vg1UbKfk_GE/w695-h521-no/image.jpeg" style="width: 600px; height: 450px;" /></p> <p><img alt="" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-mw7yvS8OsG4/VGFQzELY1gI/AAAAAAAAAvA/eIpL1kJ-_cw/w695-h521-no/image.jpeg" style="width: 600px; height: 450px;" /></p> <p><img alt="" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-49yctFTsO3I/VGFQzMMlhGI/AAAAAAAAAvA/_8b8E_rzh3w/w695-h521-no/image.jpeg" style="width: 600px; height: 450px;" /></p> <p><img alt="" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-u4_kFP4pln8/VGFQzDTn_AI/AAAAAAAAAvA/eJF1K3a5lsA/w695-h521-no/image.jpeg" style="width: 600px; height: 450px;" /></p> <p>If anybody has any suggestions, thanks!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>_</p> <p>http://bassonthegolfcourse.blogspot.com/</p>

Micros are impossible (which is why I don't track them myself) but if you want my best guess I'll say the first is a River Chub, Nocomis micropogon, and the second is a Mirror Shiner, Notropis spectrunculus. They are both common in the Ocanaluftee. I am moving this post to the Micro forum.

I'll back you up on the river
I'll back you up on the river chub. I'm in the Tennessee drainage too, and I catch a ton of river chubs. This is a juvenile specimen. The adults, especially females, lose that stripe as they get a little bigger. Cool little fish...
