Sounds fun, not many

Sounds fun, not many California anglers on this website yet, hopefully that will change.

I've fished Monteray Bay and Pismo Beach Pier(south of Monterey) and caught lots of stuff when I was 11 on squid, even salmon smolt, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is small but nice and lots of fishing spots around it I remember.

Sweet!  Thanks for the

Sweet!  Thanks for the replies guys.

Mike, I wouldn't even care if they're 1"... they still count :D!!  And the creek you mentioned seems to be on our path of travel!

I'm checking the other spots you named and going to see if we can find our way to them.  I'll be compromising with the family of course :).

I heard about the Sacramento Perch as well, but I can't seem to find Lake Vacaville on Google maps... will keep trying at it.

Sacramento seems a bit out of the way on my trip, I believe we're caping it at San Fransicso.  At least now I know of some novel freshwater species to look for :).

So...having fun yet?

So...having fun yet? winkcheeky

Michael and I met up in San Diego. We just happened to be there at the same time. Had some awesome sashimi, got lots of sea breeze, spotted a few empty kelp paddies...but did catch a few new species for both of us. Stories to come.

I hope between Thomas, Craig, Eli and I we had downloaded some valuable info to you. Wish you continuing success on your way north. Remember...Queen of Hearts @ Half Moon Bay wink  Cut up a 1lb rockfish into fillets to use as lingcod bait! They were hammering big lingcods the day I fished on Q of H.

Hope the OC and SaMo guys will treat you well...and the fish too. And try to get out with Eric to get your back, arms and legs aching LOL.

I'll forward you my coupon. If it works great. If not, oh well...maybe I'll send it to the NorCal SCSF guys.

Told ya that saltwater fish pulls hard. cheeky

Let's chat fall muskies when you're back. smiley
