First time microfishing

Last weekend I finally got to try my microfishing rod (that my husband made for me) for the first time. We went up a logging road way north to check out some small brook trout lakes, and then fished a small creek for micros.
Some longnose suckers were spawning in a culvert, looked at the commotion and decided to stay in the culvert for the time being. Too bad. But there were lots of little fish.
Hubby caught more of them than I did, on his trout rod and #10 hooks. But I did catch 2 little fish on my #20 hooks too!
I can appreciate the good photos you all post here much more now! How on earth do you hold a tiny fidgety fish in one hand, and take sharp closeup shots of the bugger with the other hand without producing a blurry shot? Maybe it's my older camera, or I just have to practice.
I have the "ROM Field Guide to Freshwater Fish of Ontario", and realize now that I also have to take photos of the fish profile in order to be able to identify them. Guess there's a lot to learn - but I really enjoyed it.
Can you help me ID my first 2 micro lifers? I think these 2 are male and female (sorry for the blurry male - his head was full of breeding tubercles). Their fins were reddish, the body silver, with the scales coming off easily. Hornyhead chub? They are not supposed to be in this area, according to the field guide.

This other fish I didn't catch myself, a chub I guess, but which one is it? Your help would be much appreciated.

I think the one on top is a Common Shiner-Luxilus cornutus and the one on the bottom is a HUGE Hornyhead Chub-Nocomis biguttatus. Nice place to start, congrats.

Thank you for the ID. I

Thank you for the ID. I thought Hornyhead or River Chub, but according to my field guide they are not supposed to be up there. For a Hornyhead this fish would have broken the Ontario record of 16cm if my book was up to date. Exciting!

I'd say

Common Shiner and Creek Chub. Scales are too small for hornyhead.

OK, that would match the range map too. We'll have to drive up there again, catch him once more and take a better photo! He was an awesome looking fish.

Thanks for the tip, Ben. That

Thanks for the tip, Ben. That was the problem - in sunny weather I couldn't see on the viewfinder if the macro setting was on or off. And everything was so exciting, the fish were biting nonstop, so were the blackflies, it was pretty adrenaline rushing. I also have to learn how to best hold the fish so that all the important features are visible at home. It's been a fun experience, I think I'm hooked on micro fishing smiley
