Hey fellow roughfishers! It's been a while! Anyway...

I was browsing reddit and came across a series of pictures from someone's trip to Chernobyl.
Really cool series of pics, one of a river with some huge catfish (look like they might be wels).

Sorry, I tried to post the picture, but it didn't work right. Below is a link to the page. Maybe someone with better computer skills could post the pic here. Anyway:

See you on the water!

8-foot radioactive Wels Catfish. Now I know where my dream trip is going to be.
A recent episode of River Monsters focused on fishing in and around chernobol. The were catching loads of zander, they also caught some large Wells catfish. The one they caught had 18x normal amount of radiation and were stunted (half the size for the age).
Pretty sureal photos! I'd love to catch wels one day but I think I'd go to the River Ebro. Not the prettiest landscape but that's where they REALLY grow

Wild stuff. You managed to combine two of my favorite hobbies (urban exploration and roughfishing) into one post. Nice!
Wild stuff indeed. When you look at the pics & think about what led to that whole situation, it can really get the mind turning in some gloomy, surreal directions.
So, wormhunter, is Detroit high on your places to explore list, or have you been there already?
I've been a fan of the detroityes site for years. I want to go there but my wife is kind of skeptical of the whole idea. I did some great exploring in Milwaukee before they flattened the warehouses and factories in the Menomonee Valley area. There were also some cool abandoned hospitals/asylums in Milwaukee when I was younger too. I explored a bit in the Quad Cities (Davenport, Moline, etc.). I've done a little exploring in Minneapolis, but not much. Action Squad explored and photographed just about everything there, including an amazing adventure near the Ford dam, that readers of this site could appreciate. Built St. Louis is another cool site that documents urban decay and renewal. The stuff on East St. Louis is awesome.
