Sorry - not able to cut-n-paste the link from my stupidphone, but saw on WCCO 6 p.m. news that a 25+lb Bighead carp was caught and landed by hook and line on the Minnesota River in New Ulm this week. Is an Illinois River style total invasion and takeover up here now unstoppable? Pretty discouraging and concerning catch...
Doubt they will ever get super populated up this far. The water conditions are much more fertile in mid and south parts of the country. They need that to really thrive. Those fish in Illinois are mostly Silver Carp. Their the ones that get out of hand, numbers wise. Last spring several large Bigheads were snagged from a spot on the St. Croix. Doesnt suprise me one bit that they are that far up the Minnesota River.
