Most Spotted Bass in North Carolina are actually Alabama Bass once you get out of the Tennessee drainage

I would guess that they are all Alabama since people like to stock bigger fish and Alabama Bass get bigger than Spotted Bass but I don't know the source of every stocking so it is possible there are some. If there are it would make more sense for them to be in a neighboring drainage to the Tennessee since they wouldn't have to travel very far so an angler could put some in a bucket and dump them somewhere else. Your fish doesn't have the more obvious traits of an Alabama Bass (slender, blotchy lateral stripe, pointy tale) but I still think Alabama is more likely

Spotted
The Spotted Bass I have on my life list was caught in the Deep river in the Piedmont area, should I change it to an Alabama Bass on my life list?
