Are the redhorse running?
The weather this year has been crazy and water temps have been all over the place. Still, I thought I would be on to some consistent redhorse action by now. I am getting them one at a time, if at all. Is anyone finding consistent redhorse action? I'm trying to figure out if the problem is specific to my home water? Or if it is regional? Thoughts?

Are the redhorse running? Or not?

Fished for a couple hours yesterday for one redhorse. What is going on?

Horsies

They're just now starting to show up on the Lower Wisconsin, which is about a month late for my area.

Redhorse in Northern IL

Here in northern IL, water temps are 50F-55F and redhorse seem to be just getting active.  We have low water throughout the area though and that might be affecting them too.

Been a weird Spring

I honestly haven't been out fishing enough yet to comment on run status, but most things in Nature are a bit "off" so far this Spring in Minnesota. It's still early though.

All I know is that the redhorse fishing will be fantastic May 8-9.

^^^That^^^

The Round Up will be one for the record books. A late spring does compress all the different runs. And, no matter what is going on now, in two weeks everything will be going.

Ready for action

Went fishing down on the root river over the weekend near lanesboro and there were many many many redhorse and other denizens of the root starting to pile up. I took this picture from an aerial perspective not knowing how well the dingus camera would work. I was pleased! . Needless to say from this picture but we sure did catch a heap of um.

Ya just Can't catch um from the couch.

What a great photo. I've

What a great photo. I've never seen anything quite like that. I've see some pretty good runs off of bridges but not

an aerial shot like that. Thank you for posting it.

What am I doing with my life?

What am I doing with my life? Why am I sitting at a computer in a basement? Why am I not on the Root River? Why do I have a job? I'm such a failure.

Were they all one species? Or a mix?

Work sucks fishing rules

I wish we could just get paid to fish and eat bbq. That's the job I want. They were a whole mix, silvers and short heads and Goldens also quite a few quillbacks and white suckers and a handful of hogsuckers to boot! Just a smorgasbord of finned fellers!

Ya just Can't catch um from the couch.

Indiana seemed a bit stodgy, but today the creeks near me are teaming with Carpsuckers with some Silvers and Goldens mixed in.  No takes, I just wandered off some pits to check a creek and drifted artificials for a bit.

Like flippin' a switch, really...there's nothing and then suddenly the small creeks are sucker filled.
