First, I found some juvenile hogsuckers that were actively feeding. I was disappointed there weren’t any larger ones. However, any hogsucker is a good one. I then drove a few miles downstream and was very pleased with this upgrade: a sizable adult pugamoo with beautiful coloration. The deep, fast water made it difficult to catch, but it was well worth it. This is my favorite fish I caught that day (June 1st). Photo is probably the best I could do with a self timer

Wow, that big one has such beautiful camouflage markings! Never seen anything like it, but it makes sense since you've got different colored pebbles out there.
