Folks, I've been rushing to try to get the new contest system written and working before June.

I'd like a few volunteers to post some contest entries to the 2012 TEST Contest to help me debug the system and figure out what's working and what still needs work.

Just click "Add Content", then "Add Contest Registration" to register for the contest. Choose the test contest and save it.

Then, click "Add Content", then "Add Contest Entry" to add some fish.

Let me know whatever gives you trouble, and where it's not working.

It would be a huge help, thanks in advance. Sorry for having debugging info right on the site but we're running out of time and I need to get this new program working smoothly with very little time.

Corey,
I added 3 fish to my test no problems
I added a fish to the test contest. Seemed to work fine.
Angling Lifelist
worked for me. couldn't add Plesiosaurus dolichodeirus so I just posted the pic under Bowfin (kinda close right?) - Seems to work right down to the detail where Moose has twice as many species as me...
Pretty slick! - Arlan
....visit .....those other fish
Thanks much for testing, guys! I'm going to do some more mods this weekend and I might need some more posts - will let you know.
The only request/suggestion I'd have for it (because it's really slick as is!) is to have a way to go from entry to entry within a single contestant's pictures. I mean when you've clicked on one to see it full-size with whatever commentary the person added. It's just my ongoing dislike of the back button anywhere on the web, and I can deal with it.
Oh--I guess that's not my only request. I also think it would be useful to have a way to enter a photo's URL (picasa, photobucket, roughfish gallery) instead of having to upload from my computer.
And speaking of the picture uploading part of the process, it says there's a max of (something like) 1024x1024, so I made a point of choosing an image that's something like 4000x3000. It worked. Don't know if that's a loophole that needs closing, or if you're OK with having your site churning away resizing everyone's photos.
This whole thing is going to be quite an upgrade over the old method, and so much more accurate.
I'm already well over 30 species in my mind, and it's only half way through the contest.
I CAN NOT WAIT FOR JUNE!

Forgot to mention: it's really cool that this year there will be a way to comment on people's entries (by commenting on individual posts). There are always some crazy stories or crazy cool fish that deserve comments.
