First fish of '08?

Howdy Cowpokes, I hope some of you have bagged your first fish (or many fish) of the New Year. Despite my best efforts I\'m still fishless for 2008. What was everyone\'s first catch this year? Last catch of 2007? My last fish of 2007 was this Steelhead:

I might actually get out for the first time of 2008 today, if not today surely this weekend I will wet a line. Will be targeting lake run Steelhead and stream trout.

My last fish of 2007 was a small brook trout which I don\'t have a picture of (at least not that specific fish). My first fish of 2008 was this massive yellow perch! [img]http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l130/sk_justin/2008-01-06_03.jpg[/img]

I have not caught a fish this year yet. If all goes well, I will catch a Lake Whitefish at about 2:00 on Saturday.

I managed my first fish on 08 yesterday an 7\" rainbow trout in a small stream locally here. Lost a few more... water was cold low and clear making it for difficult trout conditions. No picture this time alas Meade

My last fish of 07 was a Channel Cat. I haven\'t been out yet so.......no first fish for 08 yet. Hopefully soon. I don\'t have much ice experience so I am nervous to go at it alone...so I have to deal with the family and try to get them to make time to go along.

My last fish of 07 and my first fish of 08 are both whitefish, although they are different species. Lake whitefish and mountain whitefish.

Finally I went fishing first time this year today and this cutie was cooperative to bite my cured salmon egg. My ultralight power and slow action fishing pole by Shimano Japan made the fighting quite amazing. FWP
