Vermilion River Suckers

Made it out to the scene of my 30" Greater last spring - pretty similar conditions so I was hoping for a monster... no big suckers today but plenty of action. Probably caught around 10. Did lose a big fish throwing a spinner, likely a smallmouth or steelhead.

Nice big golden there.

Nice big golden there. Looking forward to reasonable conditions around here sometime soon. Got 6 new inches of snow here last night.

That's a pretty fish.

That's a pretty fish.

Had big plans and a trip lined up to catch my first fish of the year this weekend. Instead, floods are raging all over the area and I'm left cleaning up a wet basement. So congrats on getting out there and getting fish! I'll just stare wistfully at that fish for a few minutes and then let it go...
