Salmon, Atlantic Otolith Olivier

Métabetchouane River (Québec, Canada)
Date Caught:
Friday, September 29, 2017
This is a female landlocked Atlantic salmon (locally called ouananiche) that I caught at the end of 8h of fly fishing. The Lake Saint-Jean Ouananiche population is healthy and its number permit a restricted fly fishing season in some tributaries of the lake, this is an amazing experience (success is good). The brownish color of this fish (in place of its regular silvery pattern) show that it was in the river for quite some time.
