Record Tickling Golden

My brother and his girlfriend did a little roughfishing yesterday near Cannon Falls. A notable catch is shown below. They knew it was a redhorse, but not the type. Fortunately, my brother did put it on his new digital scale. 4lbs-2oz!!!
Photo taken, fish released back to grow bigger! Shelly is quite pleased having caught it, though I think she would have liked to enter it for a record shot. ;)

Dang, thats a dandy. Imaging how much that would weigh if it were full of eggs. It would smash Andys record...

The fact that it's still
The fact that it's still probably swimming is the best part!

I agree. However, if I was

I agree. However, if I was being honest with myself, not sure I wouldn't take it in to be recorded ..

It doesn't matter what you're fishing for, just as long as you're out there doing it.

I would have

Sorry Andy, but I have an all tackle world record fish in my hands I am entering it!

Did they take a length on that pig? Next spring she will be even bigger....

don't trust a digital scale

My record golden redhorse weighed 4.5 lbs on my digital scale, then 3.97 on a certified scale....

Heheh Andy.

Heheh Andy.

Either way, it's a pig of a golden.

But look at it this way... at least when your record does fall... it will likely be one of us that does it. So at least you'll know that we respect the fishies

Yep, I'm out for it too. Got

Yep, I'm out for it too. Got a few myself weighed on the digital scale at 3-14 and 3-15. Got one out of the red cedar that was almost certainly 4lbs+. Couldn't find my stupid scale that day. If I ever get that lucky to catch a world record golden, I know the perfect guy to imortilize it so it can hang out with my eel mount...
