Personal Best Pike

30" and approx. 10#

Finally, after months of trying to get good at catching Pike, I've landed my first one since last September, and it's a personal best too, crushing my old PB of 18"! It's no Mike B Pike but I really don't think many of us here can compete with those water wolves! Caught this beast trolling a 5" Perch colored Baker Shad 10' behind the boat in the Misery Bay section of Presque Isle Bay in 10-12' of water along cabbage beds. It was easily one of the most savage strikes I've ever seen tearing off line from a heavy duty Musky setup and wildly thrashing the whole way in. In addition to this fish I caught a 24-25" Pike later that day casting a red four ounce swimbait in the same general area and depth that unfortunately escaped right next to the boat.

Hey man, that's a nice pike anywhere. My home waters are just particularly adept at growing them extra big. You got a few fish on your lifelist I'd almost, almost kill to catch. Congrats on your PB pike!

Thanks! Lol, didn't think I had that many rare species under my belt but I guess so haha.

A 30 incher is always a good pike.

Definitely! Considering the biggest Pike in this bay are just over 40" and most don't go past 30-35".
