Found a ton of Blacktip Jumprocks here while snorkelfishing in the swift glides within the riffles.

that insane, awesome catch! how difficult was it to get them to take a bait?

It doesn't take long to get them to notice and take a tango hook tipped with a caddisfly (they couldn't suck up bigger hooks with heavier line) so fairly easy. The biggest trouble with them is that they're spooky and difficult to approach, and that they're always located either where the big school of aggressively feeding chubs is or in small groups of large individuals located in SWIFT channels.
