Well as any of you who actually care I live on long island new york which was in the path of hurricane sandy.well 10 electricity-less days have passed an im back.... so in the words of forest gump "Thats all i got to say about that'.

Thanks everyone and pyro the family is awesome.there all excellent, and power is back, I havent been on the water yet but "live reports" from my friends says the fishing hasnt been hampered one bit.
Then you need to get out there, now that you've made it through and seen to it that the family is safe, and get some fishing reports posted! What's biting on and around Long Island this time of year anyway?
at this time of year striped bass the usual bluefish and also tis the season for trophy tautog and chain pickerel but its "travelvember" for me so I wont be fishing and may miss november entirely.
Wow, ten days without power. I can't even start to imagine that, especially with a family to take care of.
Mind me asking (hijacking your thread) what fishing is like in that area in early December? I'll be in Manhattan then and will have the days free while the wife attends a conference. I've been reading about chain pickerel in Central Park and possibly fishing in the river. Anything active that time of year?
Not sure I'll have enough time to make a trip to LI, but I've read that early December is about the end of the striper run? Might it still be worth the effort to make it out there?
Avid fly boy would it be worth your time on LI,and manhattan fishing means east river and the fishing is good. here is a website that can help out http://www.nycfishing.com/
as for chain pickerel in centeral park go to harlem meer where the weedy areas are perfect for chain pickerel fishing (harlem meer is in the north part of the park)
Let there be fire!
