Congrats on the burbot! more and more people are finding open water chances at these fish!
'round here deadbait and/or glow jigs or jigging lures are the ticket for burbot. Rarely do worms take burbot for me. Decent sized burbot put up a fair fight. Somewhat similar to the couple Eels I caught fighting, lots of squirming and twisting. Occasionally the big ones will take a legit run and/or hug the bottom like a stugeon

Congrats!
Congrats Mike.
I've been fascinated by these fish ever since I saw a pic of one. How was the fight? and what did you catch it on?

Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

Hey Nick, I reeled it in on
Hey Nick, I reeled it in on 30lb line... so it didn't get much of a chance to fight :P. Worms were the ticket, I wasn't expecting a burbot though!
