I have eaten Creek chubs and Golden shiners. And on a dare from doc a shad....that was not so good. but the Shiners were really good and the chub tasted like white sucker.
We got the shiners ice fishing and they were all 9-11" Scaled, gutted and fried like a trout. the meat was snow white, very sweet and clean tasting. lots of little bones, but it was really good.
I still think someone needs to make stonecat gumbo at the roundup

People here in Washington State hate PikeMinnows, they left this guy to die earlier today before I got here. It's a shame they didn't read this article first.
Stonecat gumbo huh? I'll see what I can come up with by next year and maybe make some magic.
