The 20th Root River Roundup will be held the 2nd weekend of May, which is the 14-15th. Of course, many folks show up Friday or even Thursday.
More details to come!
Best event of the year, really excited to see everyone and catch a fish or two! Maybe even hear the call of a wild Wrecked Angler! Tom, you said it: RRRRROOOUUUNNNNDDDUUUUPPPP
Excited for my last (for a while) Roundup as a Minnesota resident! Y'all might even finally get to meet my wonderful wife. I hope it's worth it, because I'm giving up a once-in-a-decade concert to attend this :)
Traditional Friday float down the river starts around noon on Friday, gather at camp and we'll carpool up to the Dam in Lanesboro.
This year we are planning to do the sucker ball feast, so please bring some food to share with the potluck if you want to. The Feast will take place after the derby, we eat around 530-6 pm usually.
Also, the Species Derby will start at noon on Saturday. This year we're bringing back the Prize Table, so bring a prize to donate if you plan on competing in the derby. It doesn't need to be anything expensive, but creativity is always appreciated!
Please check in with the Office when you arrive, and let them know you're with the Roughfish group. They will show you where to go.
Any questions, ask away! I am headed to Eagle Cliff.
