I’m so unsure about this one. The color makes me say not a Green Sunfish but the ear flap, the hint of a red tag behind the ear flap, and the bright anal fins make me say not a Dollar Sunfish so… I’m lost. Please help! Caught at Tannehill State Park in McCalla, Alabama in Mill Creek.

They can have a lot of variation in color

I think I need another trip to Tannehill!  It's crazy how so many species can come from the same little area!

Alabama is a good state for species diversity. Seeing all of your catches is making me wish I was down there too!
