Centerpin Black Buffalo and Hippo of Northern Aggression

about like so

Went out on a ride to fish mission trundling bait on the centerpin this afternoon. Many hang ups later a bait bounced into the zone and a heavy fight ensued. Took a while to turn the fish into the net, then out of the corner of my eye a hippo charged. Fortunately, Metro Hippo Control is essential business and soon the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered critter you ever set eyes on was eliminated. Thanks to JK for the hippo protection and getting a couple nice pics of this awesome Black Buffalo

A chance encounter with a Black Buffalo near the northern barrier of their range is reason enough for excitement.  Getting on the Pin and from my all time favorite large river are just icing on the cake

A black buffalo on the centerpin, from the North - now that is a catch worthy of the Golden Fish Award!  Congrats.

Thanks guys!  It was a heck of a surprise.  Thought maybe if I were very lucky that day I'd find a River Redhorse, didn't even cross my mind that a Black Buffalo might surprise me
