Carpsucker, Quillback
Big enough

About two weeks ago, I caught a river carpsucker that spit out a shad when I netted it, now, I’m actually having carpsuckers hit a shad-like fly. How neat. (Threw away my tippet, just to be safe)

A couple months ago I saw 2 guys at a dam spillway hammering quillback. Naturally, I just had to see how they were catching them. Sure enough, a jig and minnow. A few of them were foul hooked in the face, but it was clear they were trying to eat the minnows. So weird.

That is not easy to do.
