Looks like a hybrid?

All fish are sports fish.

He can count it as either of the parent species.  That said, looks pure to me.

I agree it does look a little funny doesn't it? Could be a hybrid or a backcross or just an example of genetic plasticity. 

It doesn't have any of the hallmarks of a typical seedXgill or seedXgreen (both are common in many lakes in my area)  so I'm thinking it is either a backcross or just an odd pure seed.  Given that I've never once seen a green or gill in this lake (though a few must be in there) I'd lean towards a weird pure but who knows! T
