Florida Keys and Everglades (Help with IDs please)
<p>My wife and I just got back from a week split evenly between the Keys and the Everglades.&nbsp; As is typical for down there, we caught all kinds of fish.&nbsp; We got a total of 38 species including 10 lifers for myself and 22 lifers for my wife! (uconn fishmate)</p> <p>I would appreciate coroborration on the following fish from anyone who&#39;s seen more of these than I have.&nbsp; My thought is that they are probably correct as labelled (at least that is what they most look like to me).</p> <p>Frillfin Goby.&nbsp; We got a few of these microfishing at Table Key Relief. I suppose they could be Notchtongues, but Frillfins seem to be much more common.</p> <p><img alt="" src="http://www.roughfish.com/sites/default/files/FrillfinGobyMaybe2.5inBob2018.jpg" style="width: 797px; height: 440px;" /></p> <p><img alt="" src="http://www.roughfish.com/sites/default/files/FrillfinGobyMaybe3inPeg2018.jpg" style="width: 783px; height: 346px;" />&nbsp;</p> <p>Next below: Redtail Parrotfish?&nbsp; Boy! I couldn&#39;t find any photos or references that look much like this animal.&nbsp; My guess is based on the correct dorsal and anal fin spine/ray counts and the black spot at the base of the pectoral fin.</p> <p><img alt="" src="http://www.roughfish.com/sites/default/files/RedtailParrotfishMaybe9inchBob2018.jpg" style="width: 775px; height: 392px;" /></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Next we have the Spottfin Mojarra.&nbsp; Seems the body is too deep for the Slender Mojarra and too slender for the Silver Jenny. What do you think?</p> <p><img alt="" src="http://www.roughfish.com/sites/default/files/SpotfinMojarraMaybe2.75inBob2018.jpg" style="width: 746px; height: 367px;" /></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Spotted Tilapia?&nbsp; There were loads of juveniles (I assume) of these in the small ditches around the Tamiamia Canal. Got them microfishing.</p> <p><img alt="" src="http://www.roughfish.com/sites/default/files/SpottedTilapia3.3inBob2018A.jpg" style="width: 757px; height: 430px;" /></p> <p><img alt="" src="http://www.roughfish.com/sites/default/files/SpottedTilapia3.3inBob2018b.jpg" style="width: 493px; height: 757px;" /></p> <p>That&#39;s it.&nbsp; Any comments are appreciated.</p>
