Took a short paddle today for few hours of fishing. Got few smallies and saugers trolling a firetiger crankbait behind the canoe, along with the 3 biggest shortheads I've ever caught. It shoud be noted that the muskies are starting lose all their good sense, and are trying to eat everything, inluding floating leaves... Every once in awhile, one would explode on the surface. drum were going crazy as always. I couldn't keep 2 rods in the water.

Sweet shortheads man! Looks like it was a beaut of day to get out for a paddle, gotta love all the feeding that goes on in the Fall espeicallty by the top predators. Neat littlle report!
Ya just Can't catch um from the couch.
Nice report! Sounds like you had a good time. There are few fish I enjoy catching more than Sauger, their patterns are one of the coolest camoflauge I've seen on fish
Sauger are definitely one of my favorites too. The bite really picks up this time of year for them. They're lookin extra toothy this year too! Check this one out!
