Twenty Inch Golden

20"

A big surprise! I sight fished this golden redhorse and didn't realize that's what it was until mid-fight - the fish was down in a deep pool and from its size I didn't think it was a golden until I got a better look at it. Awesome fish, glad Josh was with me when I caught it!! To see more about this day, I have a small report posted containing this fish here:

WIthout further ado - here's the photoset of this beautiful fish!

Nice Golden Gary!  Redhorse take me off my game all the time too.  Just too much fun.  Its quickly getting to be outstanding redhorse season again.  Cant believe summer is almost over.  But I love me some fall redhorsing...

I love September and October, it can be tough going to catch fish in the hot summer months of July and August, but come fall there can be days that are just as good, if not better than springtime and early summer. Going to try to get out more in the short time we have while it's warm and beautiful out there and the fish start feeding in preparation for winter...

Thanks fellas! Andy, you honor me with putting this golden on the front page! It will probably be a long time, if ever, before I catch a bigger one. I'm excited to see a large fish like this come out of a different river system than the huge goldens we've been seeing out of the Root, it's a good omen to see healthy and increasingly large fish in different areas as the years go by. Thanks so much, front page means the world to me! Credits to JKnuth for taking the photos!
