Is this possibly a lake chub? It has much smaller scales than any minnow I have caught in lake Michigan. The only other fish I think it could be is a creek chub, but I've only ever seen them in creeks and rivers, never lake Michigan.

This second fish looks somewhat like a creek chub but its mouth is smaller than a creek chub and it lacks a dorsal fin spot. Any help would be great.

The first pic sure looks like a Lake Chub to me. Where was the fish in the second pic caught? Lake Michigan too?
The second fish looks like a bluntnose minnow to me.
The second fish was caught in my creek that flows into a bay of Lake Michigan .
Agree with Doc on the first fish, the lateral line is pretty unique with those small dots and bluish color. Looks similar to other lake chub pics I've seen. They also have a tiny barbel at the corner of the mouth. Not sure on the second fish.
"There's always a bigger fish"
I think it would be safe to call the second fish a juvenile creek chub. Thats what it looks like to me anyways...
Ok thanks
