Mudcat season is finally here

Been looking for a new, more productive flathead spot for several years now.  Hopefully this might be it. My first flat outing of the year produced this decent fish on a terrible night for fishing.  30+ mph wind gusts slapped us in the face all night as the cold front pushed in.  Upon arrival temps were in the mid 70's.  The bank clock said it was 46 degrees as I headed out of town on my way home last night.  But the new spot looks mint.  Cant wait to try it again on a better night for fishing...

Now that is a sight for sore eyes - Doc with a big flathead.  Here's hoping your cat season is filled with monsters!

Such a nice fish! Sounds well deserved too, with the cold front slapping you in the face like that..

You were out fishing in that windy mess?  Good to see it paid off.

Cold fronts seem to be the order of the day lately. Beautiful cat Doc. I would love to tangle with that species some day.

Amazing fat cat! As others have posted, well earned catch on a dark and stormy night!

Way to go Doc. Great flathead. I love finding new spots too, they can pay off as you know.

Thanks fellas.  Hope to get out again this friday night.  Maybe even catch a flathead during the contest this year.  Been shut out on flats two years in a row now during June...
