Today I found a pod of Stonerollers among a pestering crowd of Creek Chubs and Common Shiners. They were all found in a 2 foot depression above a riffle. Timing is everything for the hook set on a Stoneroller. They do show interest in a piece of worm but you have to be fast or they will spit it out faster than you can say, "stoneroller." They are frustrating little guys but how rewarding it is to finally connect. I worked this pod for about an hour or more but I only caught the one.

Until I get my Pirate Perch I think this is my favorite Micro catch thus far.

Nice! Cant wait to get back down to the area...
Congrats man! I just went out for Stonerollers yesterday. One of the coolest fish around..
I was just giddy with excitement when I found out I had caught one. I think this species would be very difficult to catch if not sight fishing.
That's one cool looking fish. Congratulations on an impressive catch!

Got mine today too.
What a perfect specimen...
Those are two amazing looking fish. Congratulations to both of you.

Beautiful fish. Just saw my first one a couple weeks ago, but haven't caught (or fished for) them yet.

Wow, that one has some really cool markings. I'm glad you were able to get yours before it was too late. That was a very cool find though. I have never seen Stonerollers that thick before.
That is a pretty cool looking fish! Do they always have the yellow tones, or is that spawning related?
Probably spawning colors, I bet. They were getting down pretty good....
