I just wanted to make a quick introduction of myself to the many fine members of this forum. I have been a member for a short time due to that forum whore KenT, who keeps me on my toes following him around on the convoluted paths of fishing forums that he weaves through.

I am most impressed with the wealth of information available on this forum, and the number of similarly minded anglers who aim to pursue interesting and new species of fish. Once upon a time, I was just another powerbait and salmon eggs kind of fisherman, looking for action with pale pasty hatchery reared rainbow trout. Eventually, however, my aquarium keeping hobby merged with my fishing hobby to create some mutated admiration of all things swimming. Thus, my quest for stalking, observing, and catching the seemingly neverending stream of fish species that populate the waters in the world.

I'm a born and raised Californian, but have relocated to various parts throughout the world including Virginia and Hong Kong. Currently, I am a dental student in Southern California and when I am not pulling 18 hour shifts at school, I am probably out pursing some type of fish.

Anways, I didn't want to start posting randomly without some sort of introduction. Nice to meet you all, and I hope that my experiences will contribute to the collective wealth of wisdom that this forum embodies. =)

Hello!
You are among kindred spirits.
Those hatchery 'bows make great bait for real fish.
Carpy Diem!
Thanks for the warm welcome, all! Oh yeah, just for clarification, my girfriend is also in my avatar picture... she will become a familiar face in my reports! =)
Ken: Oh man, my reports are just a drop in the hat, after I read all the expedition reports on here! These lifelisters are a serious group, they are! It's nice to have a centralized place to access all your insanely informative reports though... Are you planning to / have you uploaded all your previous reports? I've started to transfer all my reports to my wordpress blog, but I'll back them up on here eventually too.
Pyro: I actually don't recall exactly where in Virginia I lived at. I do remember vaguely being near Fairfax, but far enough where my nearest neighbor was a few miles away. I have some warm memories from Virginia, where a small stream snaked its way through my "backyard" (aka miles of forest) and a little pond yielded my first largemouth bass ever. Funny thing was, I caught dozens of minnow, chub, and darter species but always looked at them disdainfully and wished I could find more of the apple of my eye, trout! Now, almost 2 decades later my love for trout has dimished greatly, while my appreciation for those microspecies has magnified! Funny how life works like that, isn't it?
Anyways, I am thinking of visiting Virginia in the near future for an externship and hopefully a residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. Would love to relive some childhood stream fishing memories while I'm there!
CPR: Catch, Picture, Release. Ensuring our sport lives on forever.
