Buffalos

Part of the uniquely North American sucker family, the buffalos are large, heavy-bodied native fishes. Not only are the buffalofishes some of the most elusive and challenging species found in the USA, they are also delicious food fishes that are enjoyed on the dinner table by millions of people. American commercial fishermen depend on these fishes for their livelihoods. They are also pursued by dedicated anglers wherever they are found, and every year, more and more enterprising anglers try to outwit them with hook and line.
